Valeen Montenegro Gives Back

GMA star Valeen Montenegro could have celebrated her 26th birthday the way many celebrities are wont to do: with free-flowing champagne, rubbing elbows with glitterati, getting her best angles shot by paparazzi, and basically partying the night away. However, she and her handlers chose to spend the day with twenty of Gota de Leche’s young beneficiaries and their mothers.

Ms Wilma Gallardo, one of Ms Montenegro’s handlers, said that the actress opted to celebrate her special day with the kids of Gota de Leche because her manager, Ms Olive de Jesus, was already familiar with the institution’s mission. Valeen isn’t a stranger to celebrating her milestones with the less-fortunate, either. Last December, she held a fans’ day in lieu of glitzy celebrity Christmas parties; spending the day with grateful fans instead.

It was a day of playing games, giving gifts, telling stories, blowing bubbles, dancing, singing, being entertained by magicians and clowns, eating cake and other treats, and generally creating unforgettable memories for the less privileged. Happy birthday, Valeen! May your tribe increase!
