Gota’s Meal Donations and Deliveries to Medical Frontliners During Lockdown

Just one of the hundreds of boxes of prepared meals for medical frontliners, distributed across ten delivery runs

As the country and the rest of the world continue to be buffeted by COVID-19 and all its implications, Gota de Leche continues to do what it does best: spread the milk of human kindness. To do so without ceasing, the institution has sought (and continues to seek) partnerships with like-minded individuals and groups in order to carry out Gota’s vision-mission: to continue to promote the health and well-being of children and mothers which is vital to the overall well-being of society.

The past couple of months saw Gota de Leche furthering its commitment beyond the beneficiaries in Manila. With the unwavering support and help of generous donors and benefactors who have stood by Gota de Leche’s projects through thick and thin, we were also able to prepare and deliver nutritious meals to medical frontliners in different hospitals all over Metro Manila.

Doctors from the EAMC OPD receive the prepared meals we cooked and packed for them

The doctors and other medical frontliners made sure to share the meals with the rest of the hospital staff, who received them with much gratitude. We, in turn, are awed at how everyone shared what little we can give them to others.

Despite the extreme limitations on our mobility and resources – and because of our partners’ faith in Gota de Leche – we managed to bring almost 600 cooked meals with desserts to frontliners and health workers in East Avenue Medical Center, Quirino MMC, Fabella Medical Center, and PGH. Apart from that, we also were able to distribute food supplies for children and mothers in three barangays in QC, as well as to homeless people in Manila.
