Today, we lost a heritage conservation advocate, a cultural icon, a mentor, and one of the most tireless officers Gota de Leche has been privileged to have. Architect Augusto Villalón, born May 31, 1945, not only brought the Gota building back to its former glory with his vision, but also continued the legacy of other Presidents and officers of La Proteccion de la Infancia before him – spreading the milk of human kindness for over a hundred years.

Architect Toti, as staff and friends of Gota fondly called him, was a benign and cheerful presence during board meetings, feeding programs, meal packing events, and many other instances that required his attendance. Even with his impressive achievements and titles, he was one of the most approachable officers of La Proteccion de la Infancia, lending his ear to concerns both big and small.

He was generous with his time, knowledge, and resources, and we will sorely miss his laughter and kindness. Thank you, Architect Toti, for being a part of the Gota family.
