Gota de Leche and JCI Regatta: a Beneficial Partnership

Michlle Lim and JCI Regatta in Iloilo have done outstanding work helping Gota de Leche distribute the mealsdonated to us by Stop Hunger Now and Hersheys Philippines. Over 200 beneficiaries in Western Visayas… and counting.

JCI Regatta forged a partnership agreement with Gota de Leche Manila Foundation to feed 120 malnourished children for a period of nine months at Brgy. Kati-Kati, Guimaras and Brgy Durog Miagao, Iloilo. Gota de Leche, established in 1906, is a foundation committed to satisfying the nutritional needs of indigent Filipino children and their mothers. Both JCI Regatta and Gota de Leche believe that malnourished children experience developmental delays, weight-loss and illness as a result of inadequate intake of protein, calories and other nutrients. Because children may experience one or several macronutrient and micronutrient deficiencies, they are at risk for a variety of short and long-term complications.

With that in mind, the Up Up and Away Program (Up Immunity, Up Health, Away Sickness) was implemented since July 2, 2015 in both identified baranggays.
